Description:

Austenitic-ferritic steel (about 40-50% ferrite) with a high consistance in media that contain chlorine. Due to its high percentage of Cr+Mo, it has an excellent resistance to pitting, fretting and stress corrosion. With its IK-resistance according to DIN 50 914, it is also very suitable for welding.

 

Heat treatment: solution annealing 1100-1135°C / water

Description:

Due to its controlled iron content and containting chrome, molybdenum, and wolfram, this alloy is highly resistant to oxidizing and reductive acids and acid mixtures. It is also very resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion in the acid-halide climates. It is used mostly for chemical processes, environmental protection, flue gas desulfurization, and in the pulp- and paper-industry.

Hastelloy® C-22™ belongs to the group of chrome-molybdenum-wolfram-alloys that are highly resistant to corrosion. The material is remarkable due to its excellent chemical resistance in oxcidung and reductive media, even at elevated temperatures.

 

Hastelloy® C-22™ features a good resistance to wet media, such as sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, nitric acid, chlorine, mixed acid solutions of sulfuric acid and oxidizing acids with chloride ions. In the presence of stron ixidants like iron (III)- or copper (II)-chlorides, chlorine, formic acid, acetic acid, sea waterand other saline solutions, using Hastelloy® C-22™ can be recommended. Its special characteristic is its high resistance to pitting, crevice and stress corrosion at elevated temperatures under oxidizing and reductive conditions.
